School Guide
For teacher / counselor / school nurse or admin. School staff do not diagnose.
CA II deficiency is rare. The child may have RTA and osteopetrosis/bone fragility depending on individual presentation.
School themes
- Lethargy/fatigue ≠ automatically laziness
- Medical absences may occur
- Social attachment/anxiety may occur
- Behavior may vary
- Avoid labeling as spoiled or badly behaved
- Protect from fights/pushing
- Safe participation rather than total exclusion
- Extra supervision during high-excitement activities
- Report falls/injuries/pain to the family
